# TRELLIS.2 > TRELLIS.2 at trellis-2.com is an independent hosted image-to-3D service: upload one image and get a textured GLB starting asset with PBR materials that you can inspect in the browser and adapt for games, XR, e-commerce or 3D printing. Start at the generator - the credit cost of the selected resolution is shown before you generate. trellis-2.com is an independent third-party service. It is not Microsoft, it is not affiliated with Microsoft, and it is not the official TRELLIS.2 project website. Microsoft Research publishes the open-source TRELLIS.2 model; trellis-2.com operates its own hosted interface, job tracking, credit billing and support around that model. ## Product overview TRELLIS.2 is an AI image-to-3D generator. A user uploads one image and the service returns a downloadable GLB (binary glTF) starting asset with embedded PBR textures. It is built for people who need a 3D draft quickly - product teams, indie game developers, makers, XR and e-commerce teams - and who expect to review, clean and adapt the asset in their own 3D software before production use. The hosted workflow runs the TRELLIS.2 model published by Microsoft Research: a 4-billion-parameter flow-matching transformer with an O-Voxel sparse voxel representation and a compression VAE. Geometry and PBR appearance are produced in one generation pass instead of through multi-view reconstruction. The site is a web service around that model rather than a download of it: accounts, credits, payments, a tracked provider queue, a browser viewer and human support are all provided by trellis-2.com. ## How it works 1. Create an account at trellis-2.com and open the AI image-to-3D generator. 2. Upload one image. Clear subjects with good lighting and defined boundaries work best; product photos, renders, sketches and concept art are supported. 3. Choose an output level: 512³, 1024³ or 1536³. The credit cost of the chosen resolution is displayed before the generation is submitted. 4. The job is queued on a managed provider. Progress and status are tracked in the account, so the browser tab can be closed while the job runs. 5. When the job finishes, inspect the result in the browser and download the GLB. Export is GLB with PBR textures; other formats such as STL, OBJ, PLY or glTF are reached through the free browser converters or through the user's own 3D software. A standard-resolution job often completes in about one to three minutes. Higher resolutions, complex images and provider load make a job slower. Failed or canceled jobs return the credits they had reserved. ## Features **One image in, one textured asset out.** Each generation starts from a single image and returns one GLB asset with the geometry and the material set produced together. **PBR materials including alpha.** The output carries physically based rendering data - base color, metallic and roughness - plus an alpha channel, so translucent objects such as glass or windows can be represented. **Three output levels.** 512³, 1024³ and 1536³ voxel levels let a user trade credit cost against detail, and the price of the selected level is shown before submitting a job. **Managed generation.** Generation runs on a managed provider queue rather than on the user's machine, so no GPU, install or desktop application is required. **Browser inspection and free tools.** A finished model can be opened in the in-browser 3D viewer, and separate free tools convert between GLB, glTF, OBJ, STL, PLY and VOX and process supporting media. The viewer and converters spend no credits. **Account-level controls.** Credits are spent only when a generation starts, up to two jobs can run at once per account, and account activity, billing and settings are available in the signed-in area. ## Use cases **Product concepts and e-commerce.** A product photo can become a GLB draft for internal review, layout experiments or an interactive preview. Hidden surfaces, real dimensions and material accuracy still have to be validated before publishing. **Game and real-time assets.** Concept art and reference images can become starting assets for props and environment objects. Review topology, scale and texture resolution before importing into an engine, and expect cleaning and optimisation work. **VFX and previsualisation.** Approved design frames can be turned into rough set or prop geometry for blocking shots, at a fraction of the time of modelling from scratch. **3D printing.** A photo, sketch or miniature reference can become a printable model: generate the GLB, then convert it to STL with the free GLB to STL converter and check wall thickness, scale and watertightness in a slicer before printing. **XR, web and spatial prototypes.** GLB with PBR textures is a common interchange format for WebGL, AR viewers and headset prototypes, which makes a generated draft usable for early spatial tests. **Architecture and interior concepts.** A reference image of furniture or a fixture can produce placeholder geometry for early visualisation, while measurements and construction detail still come from the user's own drawings. ## Plans, credits and the trial trellis-2.com sells credits. A generation costs credits according to the selected resolution level, and the exact cost is displayed in the generator before a job is submitted. Packages are offered as one-time credit packs, as monthly subscriptions and as annual subscriptions. One-time packs keep their credits without an expiry date, while subscriptions bundle a recurring credit allowance and are discounted on annual billing. Current amounts, prices and included features are listed on the pricing page rather than here, so that this document never goes out of date. Accounts with no prior 3D task can run one first 512³ generation with a one-time trial allowance. The trial is granted once, expires after a week, and later or higher-resolution work uses purchased credits. Failed or canceled generations release the credits they reserved, and up to two jobs can be active at once on one account. Refund eligibility, cancellations and renewals are governed by the refund policy and the terms of service. ## FAQ ### Is trellis-2.com the official Microsoft TRELLIS 2 website? No. trellis-2.com is an independent third-party image-to-3D service. It is not Microsoft, not affiliated with Microsoft, and not the official TRELLIS.2 project site. Microsoft publishes the open-source model on GitHub; trellis-2.com provides its own hosted generator, billing and support. ### What is TRELLIS.2? TRELLIS.2 is an open-source 4-billion-parameter AI model published by Microsoft Research that converts a single image into a 3D starting asset. It uses an O-Voxel representation and flow-matching transformers to produce GLB files with PBR textures at up to 1536³ resolution. trellis-2.com is an independent hosted workflow around that model. ### How does trellis-2.com generate a model? Images are encoded by a vision encoder, and 3D content is generated by a flow-matching transformer. A sparse compression VAE with 16× spatial downsampling creates compact latent representations, and the O-Voxel structure encodes geometry and PBR appearance together. ### What can I create with TRELLIS.2? 3D starting assets from product photos, artwork, characters and objects. Review topology, scale, materials and printability before using a generated GLB in games, VR/AR, product visualisation or 3D printing. ### What output resolutions are available? 512³, 1024³ and 1536³. Generation runs through a managed provider queue, so completion time varies with the chosen resolution, the image and provider load. ### What file formats are supported? The generator exports GLB (binary glTF) with embedded PBR textures. Other formats are not direct generator outputs: download the GLB and convert it with the free browser tools, for example GLB to STL for printing. ### Does TRELLIS.2 support transparency? Yes. The PBR material set includes an alpha channel, so the model can represent translucent and transparent objects such as glass, windows and see-through materials. ### What makes TRELLIS.2 different from other image-to-3D tools? It generates 3D structure directly with a native 3D representation instead of multi-view diffusion, which allows arbitrary topology, thin geometry and transparent surfaces, and produces PBR materials in a single generation pass. ### What input images work best? Clear subject images with alpha-masked foregrounds, good lighting and defined object boundaries. Photos, renders and artwork all work; a single image cannot reveal an object's back, underside, real dimensions or mechanical tolerances, so those areas are estimated. ### Is it free to use? Accounts with no prior 3D task can run one first 512³ generation with a one-time trial allowance that expires after a week. Later generations and higher levels use purchased credits, and failed jobs return their reserved credits. ### Are there usage limits? Up to two image-to-3D jobs can be active at once on one account. Finishing or failing a job frees a slot. ## Policies The legal and editorial documents are published on the site: - [Privacy policy](https://trellis-2.com/privacy-policy): what account, generation, payment and analytics data is handled and why. - [Terms of service](https://trellis-2.com/terms-of-service): acceptable use, accounts, content rights, payments and restrictions. - [Refund policy](https://trellis-2.com/refund-policy): credit usage, refund eligibility and how to request a refund. - [Editorial policy](https://trellis-2.com/editorial-policy): how product claims and comparisons on the site are sourced, dated and corrected. ## Support Support is handled by email at support@trellis-2.com.
