trellis2 and Microsoft TRELLIS 2 are search names for TRELLIS.2, an open-source AI model that converts one image into a 3D asset. This website, trellis-2.com, is an independent third-party service. It is not Microsoft, not a Microsoft product, and not the official TRELLIS.2 project site.
What Microsoft TRELLIS 2 is
Microsoft Research published TRELLIS.2 as an open-source image-to-3D project. The upstream repository describes a 4-billion-parameter model, an O-Voxel representation, PBR materials, and a MIT license. That GitHub project is the source of truth for the model, self-hosting, and license terms. An earlier TRELLIS release is a different model; this page is about TRELLIS.2.
Official upstream project: github.com/microsoft/TRELLIS.2.
What this independent service is
trellis-2.com provides a hosted image-to-3D workflow: create an account, upload one image, track the job, and download a GLB starting asset. Credits, billing, browser tools, and support are operated by this site. We use third-party model and infrastructure providers. None of that makes this a Microsoft website or an endorsement.
Generated files are starting assets. Inspect, clean, and adapt the GLB before game, VR/AR, or 3D-printing use. A single photo does not encode the back, underside, or real dimensions of an object.
