Best Free Online 3D Viewers in 2026: GLB, STL, OBJ, FBX
Six free ways to open a 3D file without installing much, compared on formats, upload, sign-in and limits, including the TRELLIS.2 browser viewer.
Upload one photo of a character and the generator returns one textured GLB mesh draft. That is the honest scope: one image in, one asset out. The model infers geometry and a PBR material set from the picture. It does not read a character sheet, a turnaround, or a rig, and nothing is rigged when the job finishes.
For a game, animation, or tabletop pipeline the useful question is not "does this replace a character artist?" It is "does this draft shorten the road to a reviewed asset?" Treat the download as a starting mesh that still needs a human pass.
A photograph fixes one viewpoint. The back of the head, the underside of the jaw, hands behind a prop, cloth layers, and the mouth interior were never captured, so the model estimates them. Those estimates are the part of the file most likely to need rebuilding.
A single photo also carries no scale and no engineering tolerance. A stylized character has no real-world size at all, so every dimension comes from a decision you make later in your own tool.
An account is required so the job and its credits attach to the right user. The generator shows the exact credit cost of the selected resolution before you submit. All hosted runs require credits; no new first-task allowance is granted.
Use 512³ for the first evaluation. It is the cheapest way to learn whether the inferred shape matches the character you meant. Move to 1024³ or 1536³ only when the draft is directionally right.
The generator polls a tracked job, so the tab can be closed and reopened. A standard job often finishes in roughly one to three minutes; provider load and input complexity can make it slower. A failed or canceled job returns the credits it had reserved.
Open the result in the GLB viewer and orbit it. Check the face, hands, and anything thin. Then download the GLB.
Import the GLB into Blender or your engine of choice. Blender reads it through File → Import → glTF 2.0. The 3D converter covers glTF, OBJ, STL, PLY, and VOX when a downstream program wants a different container.
All hosted runs require credits, and failed tracked jobs return their reserved credits. The exact cost is shown before you submit. Existing balances retain their original expiry; no new first-task allowance is granted. See the export and download page for what stays free after a job.
No. This service generates a mesh. Rigging, weight painting, and animation happen in your own software, and a mesh built for animation usually needs retopology first.
One character, fully visible, evenly lit, on a plain or transparent background. Renders and clean concept art usually read better than a crowded photo, because the silhouette is unambiguous.
Not by itself. Topology, UVs, texture resolution, and polycount all need a pass before an engine or a storefront accepts the asset. The use cases page lists the validation each workflow still needs.
Only with the rights to do so. Character likenesses and real people carry their own permissions, and this page does not grant any.
Sign in, upload one clear character photo, and evaluate the 512³ mesh before spending credits on a larger run.
