The question

The useful question is not "will this print." Nobody on a web page can promise that. The question is: what should I look at before I spend a slicer run on a mesh I just made from a photo? Look at the file in the browser, on the viewer that matches its format, and reject it there if the shape is wrong. Then convert to STL if the slicer needs STL. Then let the slicer judge thickness, supports, and units.

浏览器处理,隐私安全

所有处理都在您的浏览器中完成 - 无上传、无服务器。

If the file is the GLB this site downloaded, start at the GLB viewer. If you already converted, use the STL viewer. The printing guide is the short version of the same order.

What a photo-based mesh gets wrong

You uploaded one picture. The image-to-3D generator inferred a volume. The front can look convincing because the photo showed the front. The back, the underside, and the interior are guesses. Orbit those sides on purpose. A cup whose handle fused into the wall, a shoe with no opening, or a figurine whose base spread into a puddle will not become a good print because you sliced it.

Thin parts fail in two different ways. Some disappear in the mesh. Some exist but are thinner than your nozzle and your layer height can build. The browser shows you the first problem. The slicer shows you the second, once units are right. Do not skip either.

Holes and self-intersections sometimes still draw. Seeing a shaded surface is not a manifold check. If you can see daylight through a wall that should be closed, stop. If the slicer later reports open edges, believe the slicer. This page is the first filter, not the last instrument.

A pass you can repeat

  1. Generate at 512 first if this is a new photo. Eligible accounts can trial that job. The credit cost is shown before you submit. Larger resolutions come after the shape is acceptable. Failed tracked jobs return reserved credits.
  2. Download the GLB. Open it in the GLB viewer. Compare the front to the photo.
  3. Orbit one full turn. Stop on the back and the face that would sit on the printer bed.
  4. Decide. If the draft is wrong, change the photo. If it is good enough, convert with the GLB to STL converter.
  5. Open the STL in the STL viewer. Confirm the outline. Expect no color.
  6. Import into the slicer. Set millimeters. Read the size. Add supports and thickness checks there. Slice a small test before a large one.

The converter and the viewers run in the browser. The generator does send the image to a provider, because that is how the job is computed. Do not confuse the two. A local preview is not a local training run.

What you are not checking here

You are not checking layer adhesion, filament, bed level, or a manufacturer's tolerance. You are not getting a certificate. You are checking that the mesh you are about to slice is the object you photographed, including the sides the camera missed. That single check removes the drafts that should never reach a printer.

Keep the GLB even after the STL exists. If the print is the wrong color in your head, the color was never in the STL. If the shape is wrong, you want the textured draft and the source photo together so you can see whether the miss was the picture or the estimate.

Short answer

Check the mesh on the GLB viewer before you convert, and on the STL viewer after the GLB to STL converter. Then slice. The browser answers "is this the shape." The slicer answers "can this process build it."

Mistakes that waste the next hour

The miss is printing the thumbnail. A thumbnail is the front, which is the side the photo already proved. Turn the mesh. If you will not orbit, do not start the printer. Use the GLB viewer for the textured draft and the STL viewer after conversion. Two looks take minutes. A bad print takes the evening.

The other miss is treating a browser preview as a measurement. Fit-to-view lies about size, kindly. The slicer's dimension field is the measurement. Set it, look at the number, and only then heat the machine. The printing guide is the checklist. This article is the reason the checklist starts with the eyes and not with the nozzle.

One more pass

Say the check out loud: front matches, back is acceptable, base is the face you chose, file name matches the photo. If any clause fails, stop. The viewers are there so this sentence is based on a mesh, not on hope. Generate on the image-to-3D generator, look on the GLB viewer, convert on the GLB to STL converter, look again on the STL viewer, then slice. That is the whole gate. A printer is what you use after the gate, not instead of it.

If the back is ugly, the print will be ugly. Stop at the viewer. A slicer cannot invent a side the photo never contained. The check is done when you can say the back is acceptable, not when the nozzle is hot.

Before you close the tab, name the file and name the side the thumbnail hid. This page showed the shape. A slicer, a measured scene, or another export still has to do the job this preview does not do.

If the silhouette is wrong, stop. Writing the same mesh out as another extension does not repair a side the source never contained. Orbit that side once more and keep the file whose front still matches what you started with.

Keep the approved download next to the picture or the message that delivered it. Tomorrow the viewport will not remind you which version was the good one. The name of the file has to do that.

Read the extension before you drop the file. A renamed download is still the old format, and the viewer will fail for a reason you can see in the first bytes. Fix the file, then open the page that matches the real format.

A gray material is often the format telling the truth. STL and a bare OBJ do not carry the pictures a GLB can carry. Do not recolor the preview in your head and call that a property of the mesh.
