Best Free Online 3D Viewers in 2026: GLB, STL, OBJ, FBX
Six free ways to open a 3D file without installing much, compared on formats, upload, sign-in and limits, including the TRELLIS.2 browser viewer.
AI image-to-3D is useful for rapid asset ideation, but a generated mesh is not automatically optimized for a game engine. Use TRELLIS.2 to generate a draft GLB from a clean reference image. Treat the result as an editable starting point: the engine still decides whether the topology, UVs, scale, and materials are acceptable.
Open the image-to-3D generator, upload the reference, and run the job at the lowest resolution that still shows the shape you need. Inspect the preview from several angles before downloading. If a thin part disappears or the back looks wrong, fix the source image before spending more credits.
The output is a textured GLB starting asset with PBR materials. It is not a rig, an animation, a collision mesh, a LOD set, or a game-ready asset.
Import the GLB with File > Import > glTF 2.0 (.glb/.gltf). Then:
Unity's built-in importer does not read GLB. Add a glTF importer such as glTFast, then import the file and check:
Import the GLB through the Content Browser. Unreal Engine 5 uses the Interchange glTF pipeline. After import:
Godot imports GLB natively. Drag the file into the FileSystem dock, then:
If your pipeline already uses Blender, keep it as the single place where you fix topology, UVs, and scale, then export engine-specific files from there. That avoids fixing the same asset twice.
Generation does not guarantee game-ready topology, clean UVs, rigging, animation, licensing clearance, or mobile performance. A single image also cannot reveal hidden surfaces or true dimensions. Treat the output as a draft that still needs an artist's review.
Pick one prop with a clear silhouette, generate the draft, and take it all the way through one engine before you build a batch pipeline. Open the image-to-3D generator to start.
